Identity or information cannot be verified
Mismatched names, addresses, phone numbers or banking information can prevent automated or manual verification.
Income does not meet criteria
A lender may need verifiable, regular income and may have minimum-income or payment-timing requirements.
Banking information is insufficient
An account may need to support electronic transactions and provide enough recent activity for the lender’s verification process.
Ability-to-repay concerns
Responsible underwriting can result in a decline when the proposed payment does not appear manageable.
What not to do
Do not pay an upfront “insurance” or “release” fee to someone who promises to reverse a denial. That is a common scam pattern.
